| Part | Section | What it is | Questions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part 1 | Listening | Photographs: choose the sentence that best describes a photo | 6 |
| Part 2 | Listening | Question and response: pick the best reply to a spoken question or statement | 25 |
| Part 3 | Listening | Conversations: 13 short dialogues with 3 questions each | 39 |
| Part 4 | Listening | Short talks: 10 monologues such as announcements and voicemails, 3 questions each | 30 |
| Part 5 | Reading | Incomplete sentences: choose the word or phrase that fits the gap | 30 |
| Part 6 | Reading | Text completion: fill gaps in short texts, including one full sentence per text | 16 |
| Part 7 | Reading | Reading comprehension: single and multiple passages, from emails to articles | 54 |
Listening runs first, with 100 questions in about 45 minutes, then Reading, with 100 questions in 75 minutes, for roughly 2 hours in total. The 25-minute express mini test covers the Reading parts (Parts 5 to 7) when you are short on time.
Your TOEIC score is not a raw percentage. Here is how the number is built, so your practice result tracks the real scale.
Two sections, scored separately. Your raw score is the number of correct answers out of 100 in Listening and out of 100 in Reading.
Raw answers become a scaled score. Each section is converted to a scaled score from 5 to 495, in steps of 5, using a conversion table for that test form. Your two section scores are added for a total from 10 to 990.
No penalty for wrong answers. A wrong answer and a blank cost the same, so always mark an answer for every question, even a last-second guess. Leaving nothing blank can only help.
Why two people can differ. Because the conversion is not a flat percentage and shifts slightly by form, the same number correct can land a few points apart. Our mock applies the same style of scaling, so your practice score is a fair estimate.
| Total score | CEFR (widely cited) | What it usually signals |
|---|---|---|
| 785 to 990 | B2 to C1 | Good to excellent. 785 and up is the widely used good mark, and 900 and up is excellent |
| 550 to 780 | B1 | Confident independent user. Around 600 is a common employer screen |
| 225 to 545 | A2 | Developing. Comfortable with routine, predictable language |
| 10 to 220 | A1 or below | Foundational. Building core listening and reading |
These bands are widely cited guides for reading a score. Only an official TOEIC result places you exactly.
A practice score only predicts your real score if you take the mock under real conditions. Set up like this before you start.
| Set it up like this | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Block a quiet 2-hour slot and switch off notifications | The real test runs about 2 hours with no break, so train that stamina |
| Use headphones and play each listening clip once only | On test day the audio plays a single time, so replaying inflates your score |
| Do Listening first, then Reading, in order | It matches the real sequence and how your energy fades late in Reading |
| Keep your own eye on the 75-minute Reading clock | Many test takers run out of time in Part 7, so practise pacing early |
| No dictionary, phone or notes | You get none of these in the exam, so practising with them hides real gaps |
| Answer every question, even when unsure | There is no penalty for wrong answers, so a guess is always worth it |
Your score is the starting point, not the lesson. The real gain comes from sorting your wrong answers by why you missed them, then practising that pattern.
| If you keep missing | It usually means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Part 3 and Part 4 questions | You lose the thread while listening for detail | Read the questions before the audio, then listen for names, numbers and reasons |
| Part 5 items | Grammar and word-form gaps | Drill parts of speech, verb tense and prepositions in short, focused sets |
| Part 7 questions | Slow reading, or missed detail and inference | Practise skimming for the answer, and watch the clock on long double passages |
| Questions across every part | Vocabulary gaps | Log unknown words from the answers and review them with spaced practice |
| Questions you actually knew | Careless misreads or rushing | Slow down on the final read, and check you matched the question that was asked |
| Questions you left blank | Poor time management | Set a per-part time budget and always fill in an answer before moving on |
Space your mocks out so each one measures real progress, then target the gaps in between.
| Time to test day | Focus | Mock tests |
|---|---|---|
| 4 weeks or more | Set a baseline, then rebuild weak parts one at a time | 1 full mock now, then targeted part practice |
| 2 to 3 weeks | Alternate full mocks with focused review of your worst parts | 1 full mock a week, plus part drills |
| Final week | Confirm pacing and stamina, then keep it light the day before | 1 full timed mock early in the week |
After each mock, review every wrong answer with its explanation, then let the AI coach turn your weak spots into your next practice set.
