This policy explains what data TOEIC Prep collects when you practise for the TOEIC test with us, how we use it, and the processors that help us score your tests and give AI feedback. Written to be read, not just filed away.
TOEIC Prep (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs toeicmocktests.com, an online platform for practising for the TOEIC test with full-length mock tests, practice questions and AI coaching.
This policy covers the personal data we handle through this website and the web app behind it. It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It does not cover ETS (which administers the official TOEIC test) or any other third-party website we link to — those services have their own privacy policies.
TOEIC Prep is free during our launch. You can take your first mock test without an account; you only sign up when you want to save your progress and unlock more practice.
We try to collect as little as we can while still giving you a real, scored TOEIC practice experience. Here is everything we hold:
The email address you use to create an account and sign in. Authentication is handled by our provider, Supabase.
Your answers, completed mock tests, scores over time, and the study profile we build from them to target your weak spots.
The audio you record for Speaking tasks, so we can transcribe it and rate your spoken answers against the official criteria.
Basic technical data such as browser type, device, approximate region and which pages you use — the standard signals needed to run and secure the app.
Small pieces of data your browser keeps in localStorage to remember that you’re signed in and to cache your progress so the app loads quickly. This lives on your device, not just on our servers.
We do not collect payment card numbers on our own servers, and we don’t ask for data we don’t need — no phone number, no home address, no marketing profile.
We use the data above only to run TOEIC Prep and make your practice better:
To provide the product we rely on a small number of trusted processors. We send them your data only to the extent needed to deliver the specific feature you’re using — nothing more.
| Processor | What it does for you | Data shared with it |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and secure database hosting — the account and storage layer behind the app. | Your account email, sign-in credentials, test attempts, scores, study profile and Speaking recordings are stored here. |
| Deepgram | Converts the Listening audio to speech and transcribes your spoken answers into text. | The Listening scripts used to generate audio, and the Speaking audio you record (so it can be turned into a transcript). |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Rates your Speaking & Writing responses and helps generate feedback and explanations. | The text or transcript of your Speaking and Writing answers, together with the task prompt being scored. |
Each of these providers processes your data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms, and only for the purpose above. We don’t send them more than the feature requires, and we don’t share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so your scores, history and study plan are there when you come back. Speaking recordings are retained with your account so you can revisit your feedback and hear how you’ve improved.
You’re in control: you can delete individual test attempts and recordings from your dashboard, or delete your whole account whenever you like. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups before they expire on their normal cycle.
Whatever your location, we want you to have real control over your data. You can:
You can do much of this yourself from your account dashboard. For anything else, email hello@toeicmocktests.com and we’ll help. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
TOEIC Prep is built for people preparing for the TOEIC test — generally students, job seekers and professionals — and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email hello@toeicmocktests.com and we’ll delete it.
We serve learners around the world, with strong demand in Japan and Korea, but our processors — Supabase, Deepgram and Anthropic — operate primarily in the United States. That means when you use TOEIC Prep from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where these providers run their infrastructure.
Wherever your data is processed, this policy and the same safeguards apply, and we only work with providers that offer appropriate protections for international transfers.
As the product grows, we may update this policy — for example, if we add a feature or change a processor. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll give you a clearer heads-up in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use TOEIC Prep after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions, requests or concerns about your privacy? We read every message. Email us at hello@toeicmocktests.com and we’ll get back to you.
